Infrastructure Engineer & Cloud Consultant

Professional IT with 17 years of experience designing, implementing and supporting enterprise Windows, cloud and hybrid infrastructures across MSP and enterprise environments. I've always enjoyed learning new technologies and understanding how enterprise systems work. Outside of work, I maintain a fully documented enterprise home lab where I build and test complete production-style environments from scratch, so I can keep learning and validating new technologies. Always happy to walk through the lab and talk through the design decisions behind it. Passionate about tech, scripting, automating, and gaming.

01PROCESS DESIGN

Fixing a Broken Customer Onboarding Process

Parallels · 2025 to 2026

Challenge

  • New customer onboarding had no real structure when I joined.
  • Sales introduced the TCSM by email, and that was it.
  • Infrastructure requirement forms were sent by non-technical sales staff, and customers who didn't understand the product often filled them out wrong.
  • Result: extra meetings to redo work, and a rocky first impression.

What I did

  • Raised the issue and pushed for recurring meetings between sales and delivery.
  • Built a standardized onboarding presentation from scratch.
  • Covered team structure, timezones, implementation phases and environment validation.
  • Included contact info, documentation links, SOW location and quiet customer protocol.

Result

  • Every new customer now gets the same clear introduction.
  • Rework from incomplete requirement forms dropped.
  • Customers had one reference point instead of confused early meetings.
02PROCESS DESIGN

Redesigning a Client Service Catalog

Teamwork Canada · 2022 to 2025

Challenge

  • Clients often didn't understand what they were paying for each month.
  • Requests quietly turned into projects with no clear line drawn.
  • The existing catalog hadn't been updated for current technology or severity handling.

What I did

  • Redesigned the service catalog into three tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold.
  • Reworked the severity and priority matrix for consistent escalations.
  • Drew a clear line between monthly plan items and separately scoped projects.
  • Updated the catalog to reflect services clients actually needed.

Result

  • Clients had a much clearer picture of what their plan covered.
  • Reduced disputes at renewal time.
  • Made it easier to say "this is a project" without an awkward conversation.
03AWS / COST OPTIMIZATION

AWS Cloud Cost Optimization and a Licensing Rebuild Under Live Conditions

Teamwork Canada · 2022 to 2025

Challenge

  • Client asked why AWS costs kept climbing year over year.
  • The account had years of neglect: detached disks never deleted.
  • Backups were running with excessively long retention periods.
  • Reserved Instances and Savings Plans were purchased but never properly utilized.
  • Servers were running SUSE Linux Enterprise for SAP licensing the client didn't need.

What I did

  • Audited the account fully, training a junior team member through the process.
  • Rebuilt several servers onto the correct licensing platform.
  • Ran the rebuild in phases over several months on live production.
  • Kept the same network addressing and data intact throughout.

Result

  • Cloud spend dropped 20 to 30% with minimal downtime.
  • Savings became a concrete point in the client's renewal conversation.
  • The junior engineer could run similar audits independently afterward.
04AWS / DISASTER RECOVERY

AWS Disaster Recovery Migration Under Time Pressure

Teamwork Canada · 2022 to 2025

Challenge

  • The client's DR environment ran on CloudEndure with no documentation.
  • No handover notes, no one else on the team familiar with the setup.
  • Needed to move to AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery before legacy support ended.
  • Zero room for extended downtime during the cutover.

What I did

  • Mapped the existing replication setup from scratch.
  • Rebuilt the architecture on AWS DRS and configured replication for every server.
  • Ran multiple recovery tests before committing to a live cutover date.
  • Coordinated the actual cutover with client stakeholders in real time.

Result

  • Migration completed successfully with no data loss.
  • Minimal disruption to the client's operations.
  • Authored full runbooks so the environment never depends on one person again.
05AWS / SECURITY

AWS Security Hardening Following a Vulnerability Assessment

Teamwork Canada · 2022 to 2025

Challenge

  • A Qualys vulnerability scan came back with a long list of findings.
  • Findings ranged from minor configuration issues to real exposure.
  • Needed to be addressed quickly without disrupting live production.

What I did

  • Worked through the Qualys report systematically.
  • Prioritized findings by actual risk rather than just severity score.
  • Carried out remediation directly: patching, configuration changes, closing exposure.
  • Coordinated timing with the client so nothing broke production.

Result

  • Client's environment came out measurably more secure.
  • Highest risk findings closed first, with a clear path for the rest.
  • Reinforced that security is actively managed, not a one time checkbox.
06LEADERSHIP

Hiring and Building a Technical Team

Teamwork Corporate, Mauritius · 2022

Challenge

  • Originally hired as Technical Team Lead at Teamwork Mauritius.
  • Approval for Canada came in within 1 month of starting.
  • Duties were reassigned to focus on building out the technical team before the move.

What I did

  • Conducted the technical interviews of candidates.
  • Led the selection process for multiple new hires.
  • Did this during my time as Technical Team Lead.

Result

  • Several people I hired are still with the company today.
  • They've gone on to build successful careers at Teamwork Mauritius.
  • A reference confirming this is available from the CEO of Teamwork Mauritius, under Recommendations on LinkedIn.
07IDENTITY / SSO

An 11 Month SSO Implementation Across Time Zones and Vendors

LINKBYNET / Accenture · 2011 to 2021

Challenge

  • Client was acquiring new entities needing SSO and ADFS federation.
  • Entities were in completely different time zones from the main contact.
  • Each entity had its own existing IT provider to coordinate with directly.

What I did

  • Owned the project for 11 months, start to finish.
  • Worked through attribute mapping and identity federation configuration.
  • Scheduled and ran calls across multiple time zones.
  • Coordinated with the client's contact, each entity's stakeholders and external providers.

Result

  • Each entity was successfully federated with correct attributes and access.
  • No disruption to entities' existing operations during their transition.
  • The project ran the full 11 months without losing continuity.
08AUTOMATION

PowerShell Server Deployment Automation

LINKBYNET · 2011 to 2021

Challenge

  • Every new server deployment was fully manual.
  • Included OS install from a specific required ISO, VM creation and tool installs.
  • Each deployment took 4 to 5 hours, with 3 to 7 servers a week.
  • Automation wasn't yet common practice at the time.

What I did

  • Helped build the PowerShell script automating the repetitive deployment steps.
  • Covered OS configuration, tool installation, monitoring and security setup.
  • Fine tuned and maintained the script going forward.
  • Packer and Ansible were introduced later by other teams to build on this.

Result

  • Deployment time dropped noticeably once automation was in place.
  • Cut down manual repetition across 3 to 7 servers each week.
  • Built the foundation for the team's broader shift away from manual deployments.
